The Maipo Valley has been producing wines around Santiago since colonial times.
Later, wealthy families established European-style wineries on the outskirts of the city in the mid-1800s. With the import of French varieties, Maipo’s fame for rich red wines expanded around the world.
And continue to produce award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, now accompanied by outstanding Syrah, Merlot, and Carmenere as well.

San Antonio Valley / 5 to 7 hours

Producers began exploring the San Antonio region south of Casablanca in the late 1990s and soon crept as close as 4 km from the cold Pacific Ocean. The results, especially for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, were outstanding. It also gave rise to a new style of fresh and spicy cool-climate Syrah.
